It’s February already – Time is flying by since the start of this New Year!
2019 – the year when cow toilets came into use. Yes, toilets for cows!
Global warming has taken on a different slant; if human beings can’t or won’t reduce pollution, then we will be delegating the ‘low hanging fruit’part of the challenge to our most docile animals – in this case, poor old cows. They already provide us with tons of glorious milk, but now we are going to insist that they use the toilet to reduce methane in the upper atmosphere.
I don’t know about you but I have never seen a cow in the upper atmosphere! It seems a bit unfair to blame cows in general for all the world’s methane problems when, as reported in a famous book of nursery rhymes, just ONE cow was seen to be jumping over the moon by a cat and a fiddle, plus a little dog that was laughing its head off!
Anyway, that toilet for cows… it’s just been invented to reduce the amount of methane floating up to the stratosphere… this is how it works.
Before milking time every day, the cows are presented to a special stall where they are treated to some form of stimulus at their rear end. This makes them urinate straight into a machine designed to collect it. I am reliably informed that this prevents the urine mixing with dung and generating methane. Whatever next!
Indeed, don’t you think we should be looking to ourselves for solving our own global warming issues? Perhaps more technological solutions around the car… maybe a car toilet or a deforestation toilet? Lets get to the bottom of the problem! How about every inventor in every country of the world entering a competition to find the most effective way of reducing or preventing the type of pollution that endangers our future? I’m sure we could incentivise the challenge to make it very rewarding… well, What are you waiting for?
